Karen Brown takes inspiration from her over 20 years as an interior designer to fabricate original striking creations combining the conventional with the castoff.  Finding beauty in her treasure trove of discontinued design samples she started combining these obsolete items with natural elements such as pearls, shells, abalone, copper and silver, transforming them into unique jewelry. She has since expanded her source materials to include found objects, hardware store finds, vintage jewelry components and bric-a-brac in her statement pieces literally turning trash into treasure. A native Floridian, her multiple award-winning original jewelry has been shown in juried exhibits throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
